Ethical and psychological aspects of the doctor-patient relationship

The article is dedicated to the review of relationship “doctor-patient” models in medical care. The definition of paternalistiс and contract models, patient-centered medicine, doctor-centered medicine are reflected with their advantages and limitations. Special attention is paid to methodology of informed consent with interpretation of leading criteria. The organization detailed stages of eceiving informed consent in medical practice is described. The consideration of doctor communicative competence and their importance for professional activity is taken. The psychological verbal and non-verbal components of sharing information between doctor and patient is shown. The perspective of optimization in professional-personal attitude related to relationship “doctor-patient” is pointed out.
