This article presents a modern view of the genetic marker role in the progression of chronic ulcerative colitis, its course and complications. The influence of the single nucleotide polymorphism on the immune response and integrity of the intestine mucous membrane in patients with chronic ulcerative colitis was defined, considering the external environment. In patients with chronic ulcerative colitis associative links of the disease progression and single nucleotide polymorphisms Tlr4, IL10, IL1 were determined. Most frequently an association with more than three single nucleotide polymorphisms of genes was detected in patients with serious and moderate chronic ulcerative colitis.

Key Words: ulcerative colitis, genotype, allele, single nucleotide polymorphism of genes.
