The article is devoted to topical issues of providing medical care to adolescents in primary health care. In adolescence, special attention should be paid to annual preventive examinations. The article presents information about physiological changes in puberty, features of physical and sexual development of boys and girls. The importance of timely detection of violations of physical development and puberty is emphasized. Attention is paid to modern somatometric methods of assessing the physical development of adolescents. Frequent violations in physical development and directions of diagnostic search at detection of such violations are resulted, approximate algorithms of diagnostics are presented. The timing and sequence of secondary sexual characteristics in girls and boys of different ages are described. Particular attention is paid to the differential diagnosis of delayed sexual development. Regular preventive examinations of adolescents with an assessment of physical parameters and sexual development are an integral part of the work of the family doctor. They are necessary for the prevention and early diagnosis of chronic non-infectious pathology.
