The article shows the role of adipose tissue and its hormones in the formation of the pathogenesis of gastroesophageal reflux disease. The role of the hormone leptin in these processes is especially analyzed.

Key words: gastroesophageal reflux disease, pathogenesis, leptin, adipocytes.
