This article demonstrates the potential of ultrasound imaging in diagnosing various soft tissue injuries of the shoulder.
The work is illustrated with a large number of high-quality echograms showing partial and complete tears of the rotator cuff muscles and tendons. Ultrasound diagnostic criteria for impingement syndrome are also presented.
Key words: rotator cuff, ultrasonography, impingement syndrome.
