It examines the bidirectional influence of physical and psychological conditions on the overall well-being of patients. Specifically, the study analyzes the impact of depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, and social isolation on the progression of chronic pain syndrome and the outcomes of physiotherapy. Based on the analysis of the effectiveness levels of physiotherapeutic procedures, four main categories (ranging from 25% to 95%) are identified, demonstrating the dependence of treatment results on the emotional and mental state of patients. The article highlights how persistent stress, decreased quality of life, and comorbid psychological disorders can limit the success of physiotherapy, creating a vicious cycle of interdependence between chronic pain and mental health. Special attention is given to the necessity of a comprehensive treatment approach that includes not only physical rehabilitation but also psychological support. The importance of developing individualized therapy programs that consider the emotional and psychological needs of patients is emphasized. The findings underline the critical importance of incorporating psychological aspects into the development of physiotherapeutic strategies to ensure long-term treatment outcomes. It is demonstrated that the psychological state of patients with chronic pain syndromes and their chronic pain symptoms have an interconnected and interdependent impact. This implies that effective treatment of chronic pain syndromes must include both physical and psychological therapies focused on improving patients’ well-being and their ability to cope with pain symptoms.

Key words: psychological stress, psychological disorders, pain syndrome, chronic pain, physiotherapy, physical exercises, physiotherapeutic procedures.

https://doi.org/10.15407/internalmed2025.01.050

Download.PDF (ukr)

Cite:

Балтян В.О., Бєлоусова О.В. Взаємозв’язок психологічного стану та результативності фізіотерапії у пацієнтів із хронічним больовим синдромом /Східноєвропейський журнал внутрішньої та сімейної медицини. – 2025. – № 1. – С. 50-53. doi.org/10.15407/internalmed2025.01.050

Baltyan VO, Bielousova OV.
