According to literature, about 90% of patients with penetrating chest wounds die before arriving at the hospital. The high mortality rate from chest injuries is due to damage to vital structures in the chest, including the lungs, heart, and major vessels. Radiological diagnostic methods, which include radiography, computed tomography, and ultrasonography, play an important role in assessing the nature of damage to the chest organs — lungs, heart, and large vessels. Cases with gunshot wounds to the chest are presented in separate publications. It is necessary to study in more detail the features of radiological examination methods in order to assess the nature of damage to the chest organs resulting from modern combat operations.

Key words: gunshot wounds to the chest, radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography.

https://doi.org/10.15407/internalmed2025.01.038

Download.PDF (ukr)

Cite:

Абдуллаєв Р.Р. Діагностичні аспекти вогнепальних поранень органів грудної клітки/Східноєвропейський журнал внутрішньої та сімейної медицини. – 2025. – № 1. – С. 38-42. doi.org/10.15407/internalmed2025.01.038

Abdullayev RR.
