It is shown that the medicine of Ancient Mesopotamia, as well as other countries of the pre-industrial era, had a dual, ambivalent character. Rational methods of treatment \u2014 herbal medicine, adherence to certain rules of hygiene were combined with the use of spells, fortune-tellings, astrological forecasts.<\/p>\n
